The development of a successfully trained bird or hunting dog requires the combination of good genetics along with proper training and nutrition.
Although George believes no two training programs should be identical as dogs are individuals, certain base fundamentals help dogs maximize their genetics.
George Hickox works with the individual dog owner to develop a knowledgeable bird or hunting dog trainer. George’s Train the Trainer program will teach owners how to develop a blue ribbon performer or companion hunting dog.
We must truly understand canine behavior and how they learn to achieve the dog’s full capacity for success.
Genuinely committed to helping owners have more fun and successes with their dogs, George makes himself available for continued communications even after training is over. “I want the owner and their dog to have success. Many of our people have taken hunts with us and have come back to increase the learning for both themselves and their dogs.”
George has owned Dogs of the Year in both “Pointing Dog” and “Flushing Dog” field trials. He says, “I have made a lot of mistakes over the years which I learned from. I tell owners they are learning to avoid these mistakes made over decades of working with dogs. That, and they’ll learn what really does work.” The only shortcut to good training is to do it correctly.
