Dog Training Fees

We take only four outside dogs in for training at any one time to ensure maximum quality training.  Programs are individually tailored to develop
a dog specific to the owner's wishes. We do intensive yard work and clicker training to prepare enthusiastic and obedient dogs that respond with style and an upbeat attitude.

Yard training is put to work in the field with live birds to create bold dogs that hunt under control and exhibit solid bird manners. It takes birds to make a bird dog. We have access to thousands of acres both in South Carolina and in Montana and dogs will have lots of bird contacts to gain hunting experience.

Our yard training includes clicker training to help create a happy and confident student. A complete low level stimulation e-collar program will be incorporated to bridge the obedience work in the yard training to avoidance training in the field. Our goal is to create a stylish hunting companion that finds birds, has impeccable bird manners and handles in control.

Depending on the time of year, dogs are worked at our South Carolina winter residency or in Montana in the summer months.

For protection of all client dogs at the kennel, we require a negative heartworm, negative Brucellosis and a negative Lyme certification from a veterinarian. Additionally all immunizations including Leptospirosis, and Bordetella must be current.  We will administer tick and heartworm preventative monthly. All dogs in our care are fed Purina Pro Plan Performance.

To reserve a space and discuss your needs please call our main office at 412-773-7310 to set up a time for George to contact you.

Dog Training Services FAQ's
  1. Where will my dog be trained?
We are in Montana from June through October and in South Carolina from November through February. This allows us to put client dogs on birds in the west and on a South Carolina quail plantation for premium training opportunities.
  2. What is required for my dog to be admitted to the kennels?
Each dog is required to have a veterinarian's health record stating that all vaccinations, including those for Bordetella, parvovirus, distemper, adenovirus hepatitis, leptospirosis, and Lyme disease are up to date. Negative heartworm, Lyme disease, and Brucellosis test results are also required. These policies help to protect all dogs at Stonecreek Kennels
  3. How old must a dog be to be accepted for training?
Upon completion of their puppy vaccinations we will take youngsters to properly expose them  to birds and guns during the imprinting stage and to continue their socialization.
  4. What food will my dog be fed?
We feed all dogs at Stonecreek Kennels Purina Pro Plan.
  5. Do you offer private consultation?
Often owners book time either before or after one of our one-day or four-day schools.  Of course, time can be booked at the South Carolina or Montana facilities when we are there.     Click Here for More Details
